FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's basketball team fell to visiting Albright College 59-53 in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

Hood's Newson and Anderson responded with seven straight points of their own, including Newson's second 3-pointer, which gave the Blazers a two-point lead 52-50 with 2:43 left in the game. Both teams traded baskets for the next minute until layups by Lindsey Williamson and Amina Rauf gave the Lions a 56-53 lead with 1:23 remaining. Albright's Boggs put the game away with three free throws to secure the win.
- The scoring went silent for the first four minutes in the third quarter before Hood's Jenna Davis-Hans broke the scoreless drought with a layup to extend the Blazers lead to 12 points, 39-27 with 6:36 remaining. A layup by Albright's Maggie O'Hare ensued another back-and-forth affair for the next two minutes. The Lions picked up the pace after a jumper by Boggs at the 3:47 mark that would start a 12-1 run to take the lead 43-42 heading into the fourth quarter.
- In the second quarter, the teams traded baskets for the first three minutes. After a layup by Kayla Watkins-Harvey at the 7:05 mark sparked a 12-0 Blazers run to give Hood an 11-point lead, 30-19 with 3:43 left in the half. The Lions and the Blazers swapped the lead seven times before Hood's run gave the Blazers breathing room and a 37-27 halftime lead.
