GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Hood College women's basketball fell to No. 13 Messiah University on the road in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play 74-29.

How it Happened
- Hood's only field goal in the first six minutes was a layup by Anderson as Messiah took an early 14-2 lead. A layup by Clouse sparked an 8-0 Blazer run to cut the Falcons lead to four points, 1:50 remaining in the first,14-10. The teams traded baskets for the rest of the quarter but a 3-point play by Messiah's Leah Springer extended the Falcons lead to seven points, 21-14 to end the period.
- The teams struggled offensively in the second quarter, as both teams shot less than 27 percent from the field. Messiah held the Blazers to one point in the period, while the Falcons scored 14 points to lead into the break 35-15.
- The third quarter proved to be too much for the Blazers as the Falcons outscored Hood 25-6. Messiah's Springer scored eight of her 18 points in the period. The Falcons went 9-of-15 shooting going 60 percent from the field to head into the fourth.
