FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team fell short in the back-and-forth battle with Susquehanna 17-14 on Saturday.

How It Happened
- The Blazers and River Hawks started the first quarter by exchanging a trio of goals to make the score tied at three with 7:54 remaining in the first. The River Hawks saw two strikes from Matthew Faggiolo and one Jack Gaillard and the Blazer goal scorers were Gilsdorf and two from Muldoon.
- Hood went on to score the next two goals to take the 5-3 lead. Hand netted his first of the day off a pass from Wiley with 6:44 on the clock the Gallagher scored his first off a Gilsdorf pass with 6:09 remaining in the first.
- Kieran Thomas from Chris Ciccarello and Gaillard from Logan Frank were the final scoring combinations of the first quarter to make the score tied at five each going into the second.
- Ciccarello opened the second quarter scoring for Susquehanna to take the one-goal lead 6-5 over Hood 13:47 left before halftime.
- Muldoon and Hand both found the back of the net to push the score 8-6. Muldoon scored twice in a row at 11:50 and 10:14 then Hand added his second at 7:54 on a man-up opportunity.
- The River Hawks scored the last three goals of the third quarter with strikes from Rob Swenson, Steven Musser and Gaillard to take the 9-8 lead going into the second half.
- Coming out of the halftime break, Susquehanna picked up right where they left off netting the first two goals of the second half as Swenson and Victor Simone scored to take the 11-8 lead with 10:15 left in the third.
- Gallagher netted his second off a pass from Muldoon with 9:23 on the clock to bring the score within two. Gilsdorf brought the game within one as her buried an unassisted goal with 7:14 left in the third to make the score 11-10 in favor of Susquehanna.
- Charlie Hayes and Kobi Buffa rounded out the third quarter scoring to extend the lead back to three 13-10 going into the final quarter.
- Brennan Lorence scored 27 seconds into the fourth to take the four-goal lead over the Blazers with 14:33 left in the game.
- Gallagher completed his hat trick with a tally at 9:40 off a Holden McCord pass to bring the score within three 14-11.
- Scott got his name in the scoring column with an unassisted tally with eight minutes left to make the score 14-12.
- Buffa scored his second off a pass from Lorence to take the 15-12 with 5:41 on the clock.
- Hood scored the next two goals of the game as Gilsdorf secured his three-goal day with another tally with 5:08 remaining to bring the game within two 15-13. Wiley rounded out the Blazers scoring after finishing a shot off a pass by Jay Lanigan with 3:49 remaining to bring the game within one 15-14.
- Susquehanna scored the final two goals of the game to secure the 17-14 victory over Hood with goals from Buffa and Thomas.

- Jack Gaillard and Kobu Buffa both tallied three goals each.
- Matthew Faggioli, Kieran Thomas and Rob Swenson added two goals apiece.
- Ryan Prum went 18-28 in the faceoff circle and picked up a team-high 11 ground balls.
- Susquehanna had six players cause one turnover each.
- Jozef Korpics ended the day with 10 saves and two ground balls.
