Box Score FREDERICK, Md. – The men's lacrosse team finishes their final Wednesday match taking on the No. 5 York Spartans and falling to the crafty MAC Commonwealth foe in the Spartans 23-2 despite their triumph.
Inside the Box Score
Isiac Nafziger (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) and Nick scored the lone goals for the Blazers in the first and fourth quarters.
Austin Palmer (Marlboro, N.Y./Marlboro Central) marked an assist on the afternoon.
Calvin Morris (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) made 12 saves in goal.
How it Happened
York jumped out to an early advantage and built a 6–1 lead after the opening quarter. With a minute left, Nafziger worked through heavy contact coming from behind the goal and with a turn gave his best shovel shot that hit the crossbar and bounced down-and-in for the Blazers first strike.
The Spartans continued to add to their lead in the second and third quarters, using sustained offensive pressure and possession advantage to take an 11–1 halftime lead and extend it to 17–1 after three periods.
In the fourth, Horton would break his man and be found by
Austin Palmer (Marlboro, N.Y./Marlboro Central) and with the new Spartan goalie's surprise, a fake up and shot down got a bite and another Blazer goal.
