GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team won its second consecutive away game 18-9 against Gwynedd Mercy in non-conference action.

How it Happened
- Hood held Gwynedd Mercy scoreless in the first quarter with a 6-0 run, started by Lyons at 13:09. Just 44 seconds later, Rebecca Turner found the back of the net. At 10:58, Juralewicz scored an unassisted goal. With 1:21 remaining, Demaio scored off an assist by Lyons. After Demaio's goal, 12 seconds later Lyons scored her second goal of the game. Wright capped the scoring with a buzzer beater to head into the second quarter.
- At 14:06 Gwynedd Mercy's Laura Pelczar put the Griffins on the board to make the score 6-1.
- Hood answered back with a three-goal run to make the score 9-1 with 11:13 remaining. Skorobatsch found Katy Pryzbocki with 12:43 left in the quarter. Just over a minute later, Demaio found the back of the net on a free position goal at 11:43. Just 30 seconds later, Juralewicz's scored her second goal of the game.
- The Griffins' Meleah Hoats halted the run with a free position goal to bring the score 9-2 with 10:02 remaining in the first half.
- The Blazers answered with a 3-0 run to make the score 12-2 heading into halftime. Skorobatsch netted her first goal of the day with 9:06 remaining. Scores by Liz Connelly and Wright capped the scoring for Hood for the first half.
- Hood added to their lead coming out of the locker room with a pair of goals by Skorobatsch to make the score 14-2 with 7:18 remaining in the third quarter.
- At 5:32, the Griffins' Pelczar answered back with her second of the day off an assist from Kristin Varill.
- Skorobatsch extended the lead with her third goal of the game off an assist by Lyons with 3:24 remaining.
- With 1:24 left to go, the Griffins responded with a goal by Alysia Collins to make it 15-4 to head into the fourth quarter.
- Hood extended the lead to 16-4 with a goal by Avery Stanley at 13:01 in the fourth on a man-up opportunity.
- Gwynedd Mercy scored the next two goals of the game from Kristin Varilla and Seydel Acuna to take the score to 16-6.
- After a goal by Hood's Burnette at 9:05, the Griffins went on a 3-1 run, but it was too little too late as the Blazers secured the 18-9 victory when Burnette added the Blazers final goal at 5:19.
For the Opponent
- Pelczar ended the day with a hat trick to lead the Griffins.
- Meleah Hoats and Varilla finished with two goals apiece. Varilla added three assists.
- Reiley Owens made 12 saves and added six ground balls.
