FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team fell to visiting Lebanon Valley College 17-11 in the first Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth game of the season.

How it Happened
- The Dutchmen's Brittany Hathaway and Julia Gabriel got LVC going early with a pair of goals in the first 54 seconds of action.
- With 12:47 remaining, Hood's Lyons put the Blazers on the scoreboard to make the score 2-1.
- LVC answered back with a 5-0 run to extend the lead to 7-1 with 8:29 remaining in the first quarter. The Dutchmen's Veronica Venezia found Sydney Zimmerman at 11:32. Over a minute later, Hathway scored back-to-back goals just 32 seconds apart. LVC's Zimmerman and Livia Jackson capped off the scoring with 7:05 remaining.
- At 6:56, an unassisted goal by Lyons started a 3-0 run to cut the deficit 7-4 with 1:15 left in the first. Just over a minute later, Connelly found her first goal of the game. With 1:15 remaining, Turner found the back of the net on a free position goal.
- Just 25 seconds later in the first quarter, the Dutchmen's Venezia found Hathway to make the score 8-4.
- A goal from Connelly was answered back quickly just 13 seconds later to head into the second quarter 8-5.
- Connelly kept it going for the Blazers with her third goal at 10:52 to make the score 8-6.
- After five minutes of scoreless play, Gabriel capitalized on a free position goal to extend the LVC lead 9-6.
- At 2:12, a goal by the Dutchmen's Venzia gave LVC a 10-6 lead to head into halftime.
- The Blazers found their rhythm to start the third quarter with a 3-0 run started by Mackenzie Demaio with 11:40 left. With 8:21 remaining, Wright found the back of the net then Turner found the back of the net for her second goal of the game with 21 seconds left on the clock.
- The Blazers and Flying Dutchmen traded a pair of goals. LVC's Venezia halted the Blazer run with a goal at 7:12 left in the third. Then, with 4:53 remaining, Hood's Wright cut the LVC lead 11-10 with an unassisted goal.
