FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's volleyball team fell in three sets to visiting Lebanon Valley in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

LVC 25, Hood 16
- The Blazers took an early 7-5 lead in the first set. Todd tied the set with a kill and two attack errors from the Dutchmen gave Hood a two-point lead.
- After a service error by the Blazer, Taylor McInerney had four kills during a 10-3 run that put LVC ahead 15-10.
- Back-to-back kills by Ambruster and Todd later in the set cut the deficit to 17-15 but McInerney added three more kills and Margaret Cole served up two aces in an 8-1 run to close the set.
LVC 25, Hood 18
- Wright had two early kills as the Blazers went up 4-0 in the second set.
- Hood still led 6-3 before Grace Powell added two blocks in the span of four points to give the Dutchmen a 7-6 edge.
- LVC rattled off seven straight points after the Blazers tied the set at 10-10, but Hood produced a 7-2 run to pull within 19-17 on an Ambruster kill.
- Julia Rill capped a 6-1 run by the Dutchmen to end the set and put the Blazers behind 2-0 in the match.
LVC 25, Hood 21
- The Dutchmen used an 11-1 run to break a 6-6 tie in the third set before Hood battled back.
- Wright recorded two kills and an ace during a 12-2 run that chipped the lead down to 19-17. Hood pulled within one on three occasions, including a kill by Ambruster to make it 22-21 but LVC scored the final three points to sweep the match.
Analysis
- LVC hit over .200 in all three sets, finishing the evening at .265.
- Hood hit .130 on the night but committed just one error in the opening set.
- The two teams combined for just six blocks in the match.
For the Opponent
- McInerney had a big night for the Dutchmen with 21 kills and 11 digs. She hit .394 in the match.
- Ali Whitworth tallied 35 assists and Cole added four aces.
Notes
- Hood slid to 4-6 on the year, including 0-3 in the conference.
- The Dutchmen improved to 5-3 and to 1-2 in the MAC Commonwealth.
