HARRISONBURG Va. - The Hood College men's volleyball team lost in three sets to Roanoke College and Eastern Mennonite University in a non-conference tri-match.

- The Maroons won 25-21, 25,7, 25-19 over Hood.

Roanoke 3, Hood 0
- In the first set, Roanoke took an early 6-3 lead. Hood battled back to tie the game at 8-8 after an error. Hood battled back to tie the game six times in the first set. After a service error by Roanoke to tie the game 21-21. Roanoke won the last four points to win the first set 25-21.
- After the Blazers took a 6-2 lead, Roanoke scored 20 straight points. In the third set, both teams went back and forth. After an ace by Fitch to tie the game 12-12, Roanoke went on an 8-2 run to make the score 20-14.
- Javier Rojas had nine kills for Hood.
- Bartice tallied 15 assists for the Blazers.
- Davin Stevenson had a match high of 21 assists for the Maroons.
East. Mennonite 3, Hood 0
- In the first set, East Mennonite took an early 5-2 advantage. Hood pulled within two after a kill from Marc Fitzkee (York, Pa./Central York) to make the set 7-5. The Royals would then score four straight points to give them an 11-5 lead. In the second set, Eastern Mennonite came out with a 4-1 lead. After two kills by the Blazers, the Royals went on a 6-1 run to give them a 10-4 advantage. Hood pulled within two after four errors by the Royals to make the score 16-14. EMU won the next six points and won the first set 25-17.
- In the final set, Hood was up 7-6 with two kills from Javier Rojas. The Royals scored four straight points to give them a 10-7 advantage. East Mennonite then had back-to-back aces to give them a 13-9 lead. The Blazers pcut the deficit to four points after a kill by Javier Rojas, but EMU pulled away for the sweep.
- Javier Rojas had seven kills for the Blazers.
- Bartice tallied 13 assists for Hood.
- David Ward had 10 kills and six digs for the Royals.
