FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's basketball team jumped ahead 19-8 in the first quarter but a perilous third quarter run by Alvernia gave the Golden Wolves a 66-48 on the Blazers' Senior Day in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

- Defenses dominated the second quarter as the teams combined to shoot 8-for-40. Six points in the quarter by Newson proved to be the difference as the Blazers led 28-22 at halftime.
- The third period was all Alvernia. The Golden Wolves went 6-for-8 from 3-point range in the quarter and Taliyah Malone and Jordan Karmonick combined for 16 points as AU outscored Hood 33-8 to take a 55-36 advantage.
