How it Happened
- Hood took an early 2-0 lead with goals from Wright and Connelly, but the Yellow Jackets tied the game at 3-3 with a goal from Rianna Lowery. Randolph-Macon scored two more times and carried a two-goal lead going into the second quarter.
- The Blazers struck first in the second quarter with a free position goal scored by Demaio to cut Randolph-Macon's lead to one. The Yellow Jackets scored back-to-back goals and Logan Schweiger from the Yellow Jackets scored as time expired to give Randolph-Macon an 8-4 advantage going into halftime.
- In the third quarter, Randolph-Macon pulled away by scoring the next five goals. Hood responded with goals scored by Abby Burnette (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) and Laney Goldrick (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point), but the Yellow Jackets scored once more to give them a 14-6 advantage going into the final period.
- In the fourth quarter, the blazers were silent until 4:39 left when Julia Gregory (Sussex, N.J./Vernon Twp.) scored. Randolph-Macon scored one more time to secure the 17-7 win.
