BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team won its first game of the season with six goals in the fourth quarter to defeat Bridgewater 15-12.

How it Happened
- Hood trailed 10-9 entering the fourth quarter before rallying. Stanley scored on a free position and both she and Stanley scored while the Eagles' played down. With 8:17 remaining, Bridgewater tied the game 12-12 with a goal from Madeline Magill assisted by Lauren Roberts. Hood pulled away by scoring the next three goals to win 15-12. With Demaio scoring the game winning goal.
- The Eagles were the first on the scoreboard with a goal by Kaity Petersheim with 13:48 to go. One minute later the Blazers tied it with a goal from Demaio. Demaio and Wright scored the next two goals for a 3-1 advantage with 7:36 remaining. With 5:42 in the quarter Gregory scored the fourth goal for the Blazers. The Eagles scored the next two goals to tie the game at 4-4 at the end of the first period.
- Bridgewater's Lauren Roberts was the first to score in the second quarter with 12:31 on the clock. Both offenses were silent until Connelly scored on a free position shot to tie the game 5-5 with 9:21 remaining in the second period. The Eagles scored the next two goals, but Gregory would answer for the Blazers on a free position shot with 29 seconds remaining to make it 7-6 at halftime.
- In the third quarter Kayla Russell (Elkton, Md./Northeast) tied the game 7-7 on a free position shot with 12:44 on the clock. After two goals by the Eagles, Hood capitalized on a free position goal scored by Demaio to pull within one. After a Bridgewater goal, Connelly scored with 23 seconds remaining in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 10-9.
