FREDERICK, Md. - A goal by Washington & Jefferson's Sarah Labovitz negated a fourth-quarter comeback by the Hood College women's lacrosse team in an 11-10 loss to the Presidents in non-conference play.

How it Happened
- The Blazers trailed 9-6 after W&J's Sofia Jenkins scored with 8:07 left in the third quarter before beginning to chip away.
- Kayla Russell (Elkton, Md./Northeast) scored at 6:02 of the third and Wright added a score with 2:29 left as Hood pulled within 9-8 heading into the fourth period.
- After Labovitz made it 10-8 with 10:41 to play, neither team scored for over five minutes.
- The Blazers tied the game with two quick goals with just under five minutes remaining. Gregory found the back of the net at 4:59. She secured the next draw control and Wright scored to tied the game at 10-10 just 26 seconds later.
- The tie was short-lived, however, as the Presidents won the next draw and Labovitz scored with 4:05 on the clock for what proved to be the game-winner.
- Both offenses scored in the game's opening minute. Gregory scored just 15 seconds into the game and Emily Heck tied the game for W&J at 14:06.
- Burnette scored Hood's next two goals, bracketing a score by the Presidents' Caleigh Bogats for a 3-2 Blazer lead.
- Amanda Effland and Labovitz recorded back-to-back goals for W&J's first lead, 4-3, with 6:50 on the first quarter clock.
- Goals by Avery Stanley (Culpeper, Va./Eastern View) and Demaio reclaimed the Hood's lead with 2:55 left in the period, but Effland scored two more to put W&J in front 6-5 after one period of play.
