In the first set, the Eagles jumped out to a 5-2 lead. The Blazers answered by going on a 9-1 run with two kills from Fitzkee and two kills from Javier Rojas to make the score 11-6 Hood. Kills by Andres Suarez Batista and Max Bagileo for Eastern and Blazer errors allowed the Eagles to tie the game 19-19. Three kills by Fitzkee helped the Blazers pull away to win the first set 25-22.

Hood pulled within 8-7 in the second set before an 8-2 run by Eastern stretched the lead to 16-9.After a block by Will Fitch (Upper Marlboro, Md./Frederick Douglass) and Bartice, and a kill by Fitzkee cut the deficit to five, the Eagles scored seven of the next nine points to put the set out of reach.

In the third set, Hood jumped out to a 4-1 lead behind two aces by Javier Rojas, but the Eagles tied it with three straight points. Hood still led 11-10 when an 8-0 run for Eastern allowed Eastern to take an 18-11 lead. Hood never got closer than five over the rest of the set.

A kill by Fitch gave the Blazers an early 3-1 lead in the fourth set, but a 9-1 run that followed by Eastern gave the Eagles the lead for good.

Bagileo had 11 kills for Eastern.

Chris Millerm had 32 assists or the Eagles.

Jeremiah Pha led both teams with 12 digs.

The Blazers started the match with just six able-bodied players. After a Hood injury trailing 9-5 in the first set, the Cougars were awareded a 25-5, 25-0, 25-0 win.
