FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team dropped its non-conference home lacrosse game to Juniata College 16-8.

How it Happened
- Juniata jumped in front with an early free position goal by Kyndall Yeager. The Blazers tied the game up thirty seconds later on Wright free position goal. Kelliann Drummond gave the Eagles the lead back with five minutes to go in the first period on a free position attempt. Drummond assisted Peyton Goodrich for a goal with 2:02 on the clock, Grace Gibbs gave Juniata its fourth goal of the first period that was assisted by Goodrich for a 4-1 lead for the Eagles.
- The Eagles started the scoring in the second period with an unassisted goal by Goodrich to push Juniata out in front 5-1. Demaio ended the scoring drought for the Blazers with 7:32 left in the period on a free position goal. Gibbs made it a 6-2 lead for the Eagles at the five-minute mark. The Blazers again cut into the lead on a Wright free position goal with 3:58 left. Gibbs scored just before the period ended to send the Eagles into halftime with a 7-3 lead.
- Juniata received a goal from Skyler Stevens four minutes into the third period. Wright pulled the Blazers within four on another free position goal one minute later. Shannan Para and Gibbs scored the next two goals of the game to push the Eagles lead to 10-4. Demaio recorded a free position goal of her own at the 7:10 mark for the Blazers. The Eagles scored the next three goals to end the period, two from Gibbs and one from Yeager to head into the last period up 13-5.
- Hood's Burnette scored in the first thirty seconds to start the fourth period. The Eagles scored three of the next five goals of the game to pull out a 16-8 victory over the Blazers.
