READING, Pa. - In the resumption of a game that was suspended by lightning the previous day, the Hood College women's lacrosse team fell to the Golden Wolves of Alvernia University after a second half push by Alvernia.

How it Happened
- The game was suspended on Apr. 15 after back-to-back goals by Haleigh Lackner gave Alvernia a 5-3 lead with 7:08 left in the second quarter.
- When play resumed on Apr. 16, Demaio, Russell, Winpigler and Wright all scored during a 4-1 run to give the Blazers a 7-6 lead.
- Hood opened the second half with another 4-1 run. Demaio, Burnette, Winpigler and Avery Stanley (Culpeper, Va./Eastern View) all scored as the Blazers went ahead 11-7 with 7:09 left in the third period.
- Alvernia scored the next seven goals over the ensuing 16:24 to erase Hood's lead.
- Lackner scored the first two goals of the run before a Meagan Moky goal made it 11-10 at the end of the third quarter.
- Just 32 seconds into the fourth quarter, Lackner found the back of the net to tie the game 11-11. She then scored again at 12:39 to give Alvernia its first lead of the half.
- Goals from Moky and Sherrin Smith gave Alvernia a 14-11 lead with 7:56 to go.
- Wright stopped the Golden Wolves' run and cut the deficit to two when she scored on a free position attempt with 5:45 left.
- Kirsten Lake came up with two crucial saves late on shots by Gregory and Burnette to preserve the win for Alvernia.
