FREDERICK, Md. - Field hockey fell to Delaware Valley 2-1 in Saturday afternoon's Senior Day game.
Inside the Box Score
Â
Richana Brown (Dover, Del./Dover) made seven saves in goal.
Morgan Hackett (Hampstead, Md./Hereford) scored a goal, giving
Ellie Dainton (Mays Landing, NJ./Saint Joseph Academy) the assist.
How it Happened
Hood started the game on the attack, shooting five shots in almost as many minutes. But it was Delaware Valley's Ashley Birmingham, following Sydney Keagle's pass, who found the back of the net to grab the early 1-0 lead.
The Blazers came out of halftime swinging. In the first three minutes of the third period, Dainton found Hackett whose goal tied the game 1-1.
Brown's desire to win was very evident as she made six saves over a 12-minute span.
In the end, Birmingham scored on her penalty shot and gave the Aggies a 2-1 lead that they never surrendered.
