  • Kara Heidlauf (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal High School) went 3-for-4 in game two.

  • Rebecca Gottleib (Linthicum, Md./North County) went 3-for-4, scored twice and brought in two RBIs in game two.

  • Mallorie Hetzel (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) went 3-for-4 collecting two RBIs and scoring a run.

Inside the Circle

  • Rebecca Gottleib (Linthicum, Md./North County) pitched the first inning in game one and got the loss but relived Long in game two for 3 2/3 innings allowing five hits and no runs.

  • Jordan Long (Middletown, Md./Middletown) pitched 3 1/3 innings and got the loss in game two.

Alvernia 14, Hood 2

Alvernia's scoring was front-loaded in game one, scoring eight in the first, three in the second and third innings.

All runs scored via single except a three-run homer in the third and one scored on an error.

Blazer's scoring was limited to the fourth inning where Chloe Saunders (Middletown, Md./Middletown) hit a single to lead off the

inning before Hannah Cohen (North Wales, Pa./North Penn High School) scored her with a towering homer to centerfield.

Alvernia 13, Hood 7

The Blazers found themselves with a 5-0 in the bottom-half of the first where Gottleib scored via big fly to give Hood their first run.

Before they had a chance to score again, Alvernia notched eight runs in the top half of the fourth inning.

Mallorie Hetzel (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) reached on an error followed by a pair of singles by Sammy McIntosh (Frederick, Md./Gov. Thomas Johnson) and Heidlauf to load the bases. Hetzel later scored on a wild pitch and Munson walk to yet again load the bases. Hood would go station-to-station scoring RBIs to put the score 13-5.

Hetzel would return to the plate again, this time to put a double in the gap and score two more runs before Saunders was cut down at the plate to end the inning.

That would be the last of Blazer traffic on the bases but Gottleib would also hold the Golden Wolves scoreless in the last three innings.
