OWINGS MILLS Md. - The Hood College Women's lacrosse team dropped Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth match against interstate rival Stevenson University 18-8.

How it Happened
- Stevenson started the first quarter by going on a four-goal run. At the end of the quarter, the Mustangs led the Blazers 4-0.
- A minute into the second quarter Hood got on the board after a goal by Demaio assisted by Assist by Savannah Winpigler (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford). Five minutes later the Mustangs responded with a goal of their own. Then Hood hit two goals back-to-back courtesy of Demaio and Olivia Pickett (Mount Airy, Md/Linganore High School). Closing out the first half, Stevenson managed to tack on two more goals, making it 7-3 heading into the third period.
- The Mustangs added two goals in the first two minutes making it 9-3. Just two minutes later Burnette found the back of the net scoring for Hood. Stevenson then put on a five-point scoring run to close out the quarter as the scoreboard read 14-4 in favor of the Mustangs.
- Starting out the final quarter of the game Wright and Demaio scored a goal each for Hood. Stevenson struck back with three goals until Burnette and Wright scored two more goals for the Blazers with three minutes left to go in regulation. Then with a minute a half left to go Stevenson's Kara Yarusso scored the final goal of the match making it 18-8.

Kara Yarusso tallied for seven points with six goals and an assist.
Ava Treakle had four goals on the night.
