CHESTER, Pa. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team dropped road contest against conference foe Widener University 13-9.
Inside the Box Score
- Rio Muldoon (Prince Frederick, Md./DeMatha Catholic) led the Blazers with four points, three goals and one assist on the day.
- Jay Lanigan (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) and Owen McDermott (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser) each had three points both with one goal and two assists in the game.

How it Happened
- The Blazers got on the scoreboard first after Connor Flok netted the first goal of the game in the opening minute. The Pride struck back scoring two goals of their own to gain the lead 2-1. Then with a little over six minutes to go in the first Rizzolino shot a rocket of a goal from deep after taking the ball coast to coast to even out the score at 2 points each. Before the quarter ended Widener snuck in three more goals to make it 5-2.
- In the second quarter Muldoon got the ball to roll in the way of the Blazers scoring five minutes in. Before halftime, the Pride managed to go on a three-goal scoring run making it 8-3 heading into the third.
- Roughly two minutes into the third Widener continued its scoring run as Colin Wingate took advantage of a man up opportunity. Eight minutes later the Blazers responded with a Wiley goal cutting Widener's lead to five. At the end of the third quarter the scoreboard read 9-4 in favor of the Pride.
- The final quarter of play featured a scoring clinic by both teams. In the first ten minutes of the quarter the teams traded goals back-and-forth with Widener scoring one more than Hood as the Pride netted three and the Blazers scored two. With five minutes left to go in regulation the score was 12-6. Then with just over two minutes left to go the Blazers scored two quick goals courtesy of Muldoon and McDermott. In the final thirty seconds of play Widener's top scorer for the day Wesley Sporer found the back of the net on a man up opportunity. Then with 21 seconds Muldoon struck the Pride's defense with another goal. At the final buzzer the score was 13-9 in favor of the Pride.

- Wesley Sporer finished with three goals and one assist to lead the Pride.
- Matt Buckley scored twice and had an assist for Widener.
