READING, Pa. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team defeated the Lions of Albright College 20-8 in Middle Atlantic Conference match up.
Inside the Box Score
- Mackenzie Demaio (Urbana, Md./Coronado (Calif.)) led the Blazers with seven points, netting five of her shots and assisting two goals.
- MacKenzi Wright followed closely behind, scoring five goals, dishing out one assist, causing one turnover and she scooped up one ground ball.

How it Happened
- In the first minute of the game Albright's Kayte Moist scored the first goal. Just five minutes later Hood got on the board after Abby Burnette (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) evened the score at one. Hood would add on three more goals before the first half closed with back-to-back goals by Demaio along with another goal by Wright in the last three minutes of the quarter.
- In the beginning of the second quarter the Blazers led 4-1 until the Lions went on a three-point scoring run in the first five minutes. In response to Albright's scoring run Hood went on a five-point run going up 9-4 with goals courtesy of Pickett, Winpigler, Wright, Demaio, and Stanley. The Lions then snuck in a goal of their own as Riley Basht managed to find the back of the net with three minutes left. Lastly, with 18 seconds left in the first half Demaio scored for the Blazers to make it 10-5.
- In the third quarter Albright added on two more goals to cut the deficit to three points. Closing out the quarter Hood struck back with four goals to go up 14-7. At 8:19 Wright scored, followed by two back-to-back goals by Gregory, each assisted by Demaio. Lastly Demaio scored another goal in the last 18 seconds of the quarter.
- In the last quarter of play the Blazers dominated going on a six-goal scoring spree thanks to Pickett, Burnette, Winpigler, Welker, Wright who scored the last two of the Blazer's final goals. Then in the final twenty-five seconds of regulation the Lions got back on the board; however, time was not on Albright's side as the Blazers came out with a 20-8 victory.
