BALTIMORE, Md. - The women's cross country team opened its season by placing 6
th at the Baltimore Metro Meet, hosted by Goucher.
On the Course
Aylene Noy (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) led the Blazers with a record-breaking time of 19:58.26 on the 5,000-meter course, finishing 5
th overall. She shattered the previous program record by nearly 40 seconds.
Briley Sanford (Adamstown, Md./Tuscarora) led a trio of runners who finished within the Top 50, taking 34
th in 22:16.41. Jenny Schlossberg claimed 47
th in 23:39.17 and
Rosa Olivar (Beltsville, Md./High Point Senior) ran a 23:41.67 for 49
th.
Megan Mulholland (Beachwood, N.J./Toms River South) and
Marin Bartman (Middletown, Md./Middletown) were not far behind. Mulholland took 53
rd with a 24:08.25 finish. Bartman finished 59
th in 24:27.41.
Samantha Smith and
Tianna White (Silver Spring, Md./James Hubert Blake) successfully completed their first career race. Smith ran 25:59.22 for 67
th and White ran 30:16.89 for 79
th.
Winners and Team Scoring
Towson won the team crown with 31 points.
Gettysburg had the individual champion in Kathryn Hopkins, who ran a time of 19:03.73.
Hood placed 6
th with 143 points.
