Women’s Soccer overwhelmed by No. 12 TCNJ

EWING, N.J. – Despite Brenna Ellenberger's (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) best efforts, the Hood College women's soccer team could not keep up with No. 12 The College of New Jersey's high-octane offense, as the Blazers fell 2-0 in the non-conference matchup.

Inside the Box Score
Ellenberger made 10 saves in the match.

Mya Torres (Culpeper, Va./Culpeper County) made five saves after relieving Ellenberger in the second half.

How it Happened
TCNJ wasted little time getting on offense, as they managed to get a shot off just 83 seconds into the game. This shooting trend would not change much throughout the match, and although Ellenberger held strong, the Lions finally managed to get one past her in the 39th minute to put the Blazers in a 1-0 hole at halftime.

After another onslaught of shots were knocked away by Ellenberger to start the second half, she was replaced by Torres in the 54th minute, where TCNJ picked up right where they left off with the constant shooting, hardly allowing the ball to get into their own half.

Despite Hood managing to stop their attack for a while, another shot found the back of the net in the 73rd minute to make it a 2-0 game, where it would remain until the final horn sounded.

For the Opponent
Taylor Bielan and Ava Curtis both scored for the Lions.

Analysis
TCNJ outshot Hood 34-0.

The Lions finished with a 14-0 advantage in corners.

Hood committed 12 fouls in the match, while TCNJ were whistled 15 times.
