How it Happened
The first set started off evenly, with the Blazers holding a slight 5-3 lead, but the Chargers took control of the set with an 8-1 run. Although Hood would get within two, a nine-point streak from Lancaster Bible would seal things up and give them the early 1-
0 match lead.
The Chargers were able to take control of set two from the beginning, starting things off with a 5-1 run and never letting the Blazers get into the rhythm they were looking for. After eventually doubling the visitors up with an 18-9 advantage, they closed out the set to take a 2-0 lead and set themselves up for a sweep.
Set three was much more evenly matched the whole time, as Hood stuck with Lancaster Bible, never letting the home team get too much of a lead as they looked for a way to avoid being swept on the road. Although the Chargers held a 17-13 lead late in the set, the Blazers took advantage of some offensive miscues and, with kills from Madden and Ofoegbu, wrestled the set away to avoid the sweep and set up a fourth set.
Needing another burst of energy in set four, Hood was hanging on to a 10-9 advantage when Lancaster Bible scored the next nine points to take a commanding lead, and despite the Blazers managing to get four in a row directly after, the Chargers never let them get close before shutting the door and handing Hood the loss.
