How it Happened
Shenandoah started their attack early, taking eight shots in just fifteen minutes. The Hornets' aggression finally paid off at 19' when Lauren Duffy scored to go up 1-0. Ellenberger made a pair of saves heading into the break. After halftime, McKenna Newcome came out of the gate to score at 52' and extend Shenandoah's lead to 2-0 in the process.
Madison Sheffield (Frederick, Md./Urbana) took Hood's lone shot, but it didn't find the back of the net. The Hornet's held off the Blazers and sealed their victory 2-0.
