YORK, Pa- The Hood College field hockey team went on the road to York College of Pennsylvania, facing off against the no.23 ranked team in the country on Saturday afternoon, falling 2-0 in the match.

How it Happened
The Blazers were tested early into the contest facing a shot on goal within five minutes into the first quarter, but was saved by
Grace Guy (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon).
York continued the pressure on Guy in goal, who faced another shot shortly after the first attempt, but Guy was unfazed by the offensive prowess, earning another save just over five minutes into the contest.
The Spartans earned a penalty corner near the end of the first quarter that they would capitalize on finding the back of the goal to give York a 1-0 advantage over Hood.
Throughout the second quarter the Blazers would weather the Spartans aggressive offensive approach, but a late goal just before the half boosted the lead 2-0 in favor of York.
The third quarter showcased Hood playing with more urgency to try and cut into the lead, as
Ellie Dainton (Mays Landing, NJ./Saint Joseph Academy) fired a shot wide of the goal late in the third.
Heading into the fourth quarter, York would try to put Hood away, but the Blazers continued to fight till the bitter end against a ranked opponent on the road that showcased their tenacity.
