FREDERICK, MD. – The men's basketball squad earns their third ever ranking in D3Hoops Top 25 landing at No. 24 after their 6-0 start in the newest addition of Blazer basketball.
The season started with with another dominant slate scoring 96 points per game and finding the bucket at a 52 percent rate with both marks inside the Top 15 in the country.
Jevon Yarbrough (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) has emerged in his junior season as an explosive threat leading the conference in points per game (22.7), points (136) and made baskets (50). In the two biggest games of the season against No. 21 Catholic and St. Vincent, he scored 30-plus points when the team needed to make the final push. Yarbrough already has won two MVP trophies from the Battle of D.C. and Maryland and Rotary Club of Frederick Tournament and looks to continue his caliber of play down the stretch.
Another weapon in the potent offense is
Kullen Robinson (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria City), a player proven to wear down the defense with his technical work of the game. He is shooting around 60 percent from the field and has been known this season to take control of the game with his scoring runs.
Karron Mallory (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) sits second in the MAC in made three-point attempts (19) with his accuracy from the logos and leading the MACC in assist-turnover ration with the dual threat ability and tested ball handling skills.
Troy Fulton (Denver, N.C./Lincoln Charter) has quietly approached the Top 10 in the conference in three pointers with his ability to break the flow of a game with a pure three ball.
The Blazers have benefited in the paint from their big men
Garrett Cox (Glen Allen, VA/Glen Allen) and
Jude Huseby (Frederick, Md./Urbana) down low to enforce the physicality with crucial minutes also from the high octane
Gage Linton (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale).
The Blazers have no easy schedule, heading to Johns Hopkins on Tuesday, Dec. 2 before hosting a Shenandoah University squad on Dec. 11 that broke their winning streak in the previous year scoring almost triple digits against the Blue & Grey.
