How it HappenedÂ
- With a promising first quarter, the Blazers' lead looked as if the game was already decided. Starting the initial three-point scoring run for Hood, Harper quickly found the back of the net just under a minute into the quarter. Gregory and Burnette followed suit giving the Blazers their three-point lead. McDaniel showed composure though as Kat Thayer took a strike past the goalie to make it 3-1. Hood went on another three-point run however, with goals by Gregory, Stanley and Burnette to give the Blazers a 6-1 lead going into the second quarter. Â
- Beginning the second period, Burnette was rewarded with a hat trick after scoring her third goal on the day. With a large lead, the Blazers seemed to step off the gas for a moment as the Green Terror set up for a five-goal run to cut Hood's lead to just one point. Going into the second half the Blazers led 7-6.Â
- In response to a lackluster second half Hood responded with a four-point run starting with Stanley's second goal of the day. Just two minutes later Massey netted her first goal of the day. The following two goals were then scored by Harper and Gregory who gave the Blazers a comfortable 11-6 lead. McDaniel kept fighting though, trading places with the Blazers in the scoring collum going on another three-point scoring run.  Then before the conclusion of the period Burnette managed to find the back of the net after receiving a pass from Harper to give the Blazers a 12-9 lead heading into the fourth. Â
- After Burnette's goal she decided to trade places with her teammate and start the fourth quarter with an assisted goal to Harper in the first minute. Although the game would seem out of reach for McDaniel the team battled and went on a four-goal run to tie the game at 13. The Green Terror's Charlotte Alexander was the difference maker as she would score again when the team needed her most down the stretch. Following Alexander's goal Massey scored once more with a diving effort after catching a pass from Stanley giving Hood the lead again. Then with little time on the game clock, McDaniel's Emily Conklin managed to get through the Blazer defense and tie the game at 14 sending it into overtime.Â
- After regulation Conklin of McDaniel controlled the opening overtime draw and possessed the ball into Blazer territory. With the new period just starting Alexander wasted no time taking a quick shot past Hood's goalkeeper to ultimately win the game for McDaniel with a final score of 15-14.Â
