How it Happened
- The Saints opened the scoring for the match with a four-goal run in the opening seven minutes. Hood fired back with back-to-back goals courtesy of Salem and Burnette. Just a minute following the Blazers push to cut the lead to two, Marymount tacked on two more goals. Proceeding into the second quarter the score was 6-2.
- Hood looked to turn things around in the beginning of the quarter as Gregory scored the opening goal three minutes in to make it 6-3. The Saints would not give in though as the team added another four-goal run to the stat sheet. The Blazers responded with one more goal after taking advantage of a shot clock violation delt by Marymount. Stanley found the back of the net after catching a pass from Gregory. Before the first half concluded the Saints added on a five-goal flurry to make it 15-4.
- In the first three minutes of the first half Marymount poured on two more but Burnette would put a stop to the nonsense scoring her second goal of the day. The Saints were now annoyed and added one more goal to total the goal count to 18-5 at the end of the third period.
- The fourth and final quarter of play showed itself to be all Marymount as the Saints third four-goal run topped out scoring in the game. At the final buzzer the scoreboard read 22-5 in favor of Marymount.
