Declan Musselman (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) took the loss in game two, allowing eight earned runs.
From the Bullpen
Declan Sullivan (Huntington, N.Y./St. Anthony's) made his anticipated return and tossed a scoreless inning in game one.
How it Happened – New Jersey City 8, Hood 1
In the top of third, the Gothic Knights' Mosquea pieced a triple in the right center gap and then scored via groundout for the game's first run.
The Knights spread out three more and threatened in the sixth with a runner making his way to third but relief pitcher
Mason Sawyers (Culpeper, Va./Culpeper County) slammed the door.
Gannon led off the inning with a slicing double down the line and eventually was plated by a pinch base knock by
Sean Seely (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage).
How it Happened – McDaniel 17, Hood 4
The Green Terror struck early, plating five runs in the first inning and adding two more in the second.
The Blazers threatened in the second daring the opposing infield to make a play and two errors put two on and two outs. However the threat would end with the third out at second base.
McDaniel continued their offensive run in the third, making it an 11-0 game. Hood managed to get on the board in the bottom half of the inning though, with a Robbins triple scoring Seely before scoring himself after
Colin Moeller (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) hit a ball too hard for the shortstop to have time to throw home.
Although the Green Terror added another run in the top of the sixth, the Blazers looked like they might be able to make a comeback happen in the bottom of the seventh when Ludington led the inning off with a double and scored two batters later. Hood got another run across and had two runners on with just one out, but the next two batters went down to end the threat.
In the eighth inning, McDaniel tacked on three more runs before finishing the scoring with a run in the top of the ninth to hand the Blazers a 17-4 loss.
