FREDERICK, Md. – The Hood College men's soccer team battled through a scoreless first half but was unable to overcome two second-half goals as the Blazers suffered a 2-0 loss to Washington College (Md.) at Thomas Athletic Field on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened
Washington College controlled much of the early possession and generated several scoring opportunities in the opening half, but Hood goalkeeper Labows kept the game scoreless with back-to-back saves in a span of seconds during the 35th minute.
The Blazers created their best chances late in the first half. Wright forced a save from the Washington College goalkeeper in the 44th minute before sending another attempt just wide moments later. The two teams entered halftime deadlocked at 0-0.
Washington College broke through early in the second half when Tucker Sprano found the back of the net in the 54th minute to give the Shoremen a 1-0 advantage.
Hood looked for an equalizer and earned corner kicks in the 55th and 58th minutes, while Wright and
N'Tony Kalala (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) each recorded second-half shot attempts.
The Shoremen eventually added an insurance goal in the 81st minute as Simone Perin scored to make it 2-0.
