FREDERICK, Md. – From beginning to end, the Hood College field hockey team honored their seniors with a 3-0 win over Aggies of Delaware Valley University on Saturday afternoon defeat them for the first time in school history.

Madeline Moreno (Mansfield, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) totaled for two points with a goal and assist in her Senior day.
Bianca Scally (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks) and Anna Sheldon (Odenton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) each netted a goal in the match.
Sydney Fleming (Fredericksburg, Va./Courtland) tacked on an assist on the day.
Allison Wallin (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) had a clean slate in goal facing zero shots.
How it Happened
The Blazers came out the gate swinging in the beginning of the match as Scally had found two quality looks at the Aggie keeper. Within the first seven minutes she managed to clean up her rebound and place a shot past Delaware Valley 's Gracyn Shutt to put Hood up 1-0.
Opening up the second quarter, Hood took its momentum from the previous quarter and continued its offensive pursuit. Just at the start of the quarter, the Blazers were granted three penalty corners before Moreno knocked a shot into the Aggies' cage after receiving a perfect insert from Fleming. With the addition of Moreno's goal Hood was now up 2-0 on Delaware Valley University.
The third quarter of the game was almost identical to the second as Hood continued to capitalize off another penalty corner. This time however, the first-year Sheldon added to the Blazer lead after cleaning up a promising shot from Moreno.
As the final buzzer sounded, the scoreboard read 3-0 in favor of Hood and the Blazers were able to get three goals for each of the team's seniors.

Graycyn Shutt made 17 saves for the Aggies.
Notes
The Blazers improve to 3-3, while the Aggies fall to 2-3 on their season.
This game marks the first time that Hood College Field Hockey has defeated Delaware Valley University.
