BALTIMORE, Md. – From start to finish the field hockey squad put the throttle down on both ends of the field to outshoot the Golden Gophers 37-2 and ultimately cruise to a 7-0 win to open the season up on the road.

Harper Buettner (Haymarket, Va./Gainesville) got her first collegiate minutes in the second half.
How it Happened
Hood although on the road, felt right at home in Maryland as just 14 seconds into the match they had a shot at goal that was saved by the Goucher keeper. The Blue & Grey would notch goals at the five-minute mark by Kodrin and the eight-minute mark by the well anticipated returner in Massey to eclipse an early lead.
The opposition would achieve their first shot right out of the gate in the second quarter, not to be outshined by Moreno's first goal of the night off of a penalty corner.
The Blazers would add two more goals in each of the final two quarters to boast a seven-goal lead, their largest since Senior Day less than a year prior.

Katie Bloom of Goucher made 20 saves on the afternoon.
