FREDERICK, Md.--The Shenandoah University field hockey team
(1-9) defeated Hood College (3-9), 4-0, Sunday to spoil an
otherwise ceremonious afternoon during which the Blazers paid
tribute to their two graduating seniors, Lauren Lieb and Christa
Lundskow.
The visiting Hornets scored three goals in the first half and
surrendered just one Blazer shot in the first 35 minutes. Jenn
Iuliano got the Hornets on the board at the 7:28 mark and
Jocelyn Whitt registered a pair of goals about 15 minutes apart.
Maggie Dutill pocketed Shenandoah's fourth goal midway through the
second half.
Hood collected five shots on the afternoon, including a pair on
goal by Jen Graham. Ashley Saylor made seven saves in the cage and
Jen Krietz came up with a pair of defensive save in the losing
cause.
The Blazers wrap up their home schedule Tuesday against Goucher
College at 4 p.m.
