Shenandoah Spoils Hood's Senior Day, 4-0

FREDERICK, Md.--The Shenandoah University field hockey team (1-9) defeated Hood College (3-9), 4-0, Sunday to spoil an otherwise ceremonious afternoon during which the Blazers paid tribute to their two graduating seniors, Lauren Lieb and Christa Lundskow.

The visiting Hornets scored three goals in the first half and surrendered just one Blazer shot in the first 35 minutes. Jenn Iuliano got the Hornets on the board at the 7:28 mark and Jocelyn Whitt registered a pair of goals about 15 minutes apart. Maggie Dutill pocketed Shenandoah's fourth goal midway through the second half.

Hood collected five shots on the afternoon, including a pair on goal by Jen Graham. Ashley Saylor made seven saves in the cage and Jen Krietz came up with a pair of defensive save in the losing cause.

The Blazers wrap up their home schedule Tuesday against Goucher College at 4 p.m.
