ARLINGTON, Va.--Freshman Troy Hubbard scored twice in the second
quarter for the Hood College men's lacrosse team (1-6, 0-2 CAC) in
an 18-2 loss to Marymount University (4-4, 1-2) Wednesday at
Washington & Lee High School.
Hubbard opened the scoring for Hood with a man-up goal off a
feed from Kris Miner, marking his team-leading eighth goal of the
season. he added a second unassisted tally with 2:56 left in the
first half, but the Saints grabbed an 8-2 lead at halftime.
Hood was unable to get one past keepers Joe Gagliardi and Marc
Scanlon in the second half.
Nick O'Brien made 18 saves in the net for the Blazers while
Hector Montoya won three face-offs in defeat.
Hood travels to Newport News, Va., Saturday to take on
Christopher Newport University at 7:30 p.m.
