ALLENTOWN, Pa.--The Hood College field hockey team (0-2) had two goals retracted by the officials, one in regulation and one in overtime, in a heartbreaking 1-0 overtime setback at Cedar Crest College (1-2) Sunday afternoon.

The Falcons netted the golden goal in the 78th minute when Lauren Salge cashed in on Cedar Crest's only shot attempt in the extra session off a feed from Jessica Sanchez.

Senior Anne Marie Hantman made the start in the cage and rejected nine Falcon shot attempts in defeat.

Sophomore Megan Cahill fired off three of the Blazers' six shots on the afternoon while senior Katelyn Bramkamp had two and sophomore Miriah Stone had one. Lindsay Harrison posted the shutout for the Falcons, making four saves.

The Blazers open Capital Athletic Conference action Wednesday at new CAC foe Frostburg State University. The contest is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
