Hood played perhaps its strongest CAC game of the season but could not tally the final goal needed to get past mighty York. York started the scoring in the 24th minute with a corner kick from Austin Johnson that found the head of York's Antonio Bua on the near post. Bua headed the ball back post past Hood goalkeeper Will Lane for his sixth goal of the season. York needed little time to get its second goal just five minutes later when Austin Johnson scored his first goal of the season off a cross from Taylor Brummitt to give York the 2-0 lead.

 

The nine Hood seniors, who played in their last game in the blue and grey would not give up and played an inspired second half. Hood got on the board off senior Mike Yencho's first goal of the season in the 60th minute. Eric Diehl played a quality ball from the left flank and a speedy Yencho caught up to the ball and hit a header that just went over the goal line and was eventually ruled a goal by the referee. This was Hood's first career goal against in York in seven all time meetings.

 

Tensions also rose in the second half as York's assistant coach was kicked out of the game early in the second stanza for arguing calls by the referee. The second half also saw six cards total, including the red card to York's assistant. Hood had a few chances late in the game but were not able to capitalize and that led to their defeat.

 

Lane made a few very quality saves for the Blazers in his 90 minutes of work. Lane had nine saves total while York goalkeeper Ethan Kavanaugh did not have to make a save. York also outshot Hood 30-8.

 

Hood finishes the season saying good bye to nine senior players but return three other seniors for another year of eligibility. The team will also be saying goodbye to the CAC and will begin play in the Middle Atlantic Conference starting next season.
