Eagles Defeat Hood Field Hockey, 9-0

BRIDGEWATER, Va.--The Hood College field hockey team (2-3) lost 9-0 to the Bridgewater College Eagles (2-4) Wednesday in nonconference action.

The Eagles notched six goals in the first half and three in the second and outshot the Blazers 29-2.

Hood's goalkeeping tandem split time in the cage; Ashley Stennett earned the start and made 11 saves in her 54:14 of action, while Ying Van Schaik played the final 15:46 in the cage and turned away two of the three shots she faced on target.

Megan Cahill was credited with the Blazers' lone shot on goal of the game in the second half but it was denied by Eagle netminder Jessica Balsano.

BC's Megan Gould registered four goals on the day for the victors. Four other Eagles got into the scoring column as well.

Hood must endure a quick turnaround before their next road contest, which will take place Friday at Notre Dame (Md.) at 4 p.m.
