FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College field hockey team (2-13) lost to the visiting Bridgewater College Eagles (9-7) by a count of 8-0 in nonconference action at Thomas Athletic Field.

The Blazers limited the Eagles to two first-half scores despite a barrage of 14 attempts, but Bridgewater broke the game open with six goals on 12 shots in the second half. Six different players scored while Colleen Dickson and Galen Goodman added a pair of tallies each.

Hood's Liz Decembrino turned aside 10 Eagle attempts and Rachel Marlow was credited with a defensive save on the day. Hood's two shots in the game came off the sticks of Anna Kate Smith and Megan Cahill, both in the second half. Smith's rip was saved by Jordan Monck and Cahill's shot sailed wide of the cage.

The Blazers have two more games on the slate next week to wrap up the 2012 season. Hood hosts Commonwealth Conference rival Alvernia University Wednesday at 4 p.m. before traveling to Wilson College Friday at 4 p.m.
