Box Score SALISBURY, Md.--The Hood College men's lacrosse team (3-10, 1-4 CAC) took on its second top 10 team in as many games, falling 29-1 to the No. 1 Salisbury University Sea Gulls (13-0, 5-0 CAC) Saturday in a Capital Athletic Conference contest.
Trey Freeman scored Hood's lone goal of the afternoon off a feed from Shane O'Keefe with 2:30 left in the second quarter. The goal was Freeman's 11th of the season while the assist was O'Keefe's eighth of the spring.
Hood attempted 10 shots on the day, four by Freeman, two apiece by Michael Gallion and Ricky Orndorff and one each by Shane O'Keefe and Alex Engler.
Hood's three first-year netminders all got some action against the nation's best offense. Joseph McCulloh started in net and made two saves on nine shots on cage. Cody Hass made six saves on 15 attempts on net and Nick Reinberg also stopped six of the 19 shots on target he faced.
Mark Filuta forced a pair of Sea Gull turnovers and Randolph Clark registered eight ground balls and won six face-offs.
Salisbury notched six goals in the first, six more in the second, 10 in the third and seven in the fourth. Eighteen Sea Gulls contributed to the scoring.
Hood takes to the road for the final time this spring Wednesday to face the York College (Pa.) Spartans in a CAC tilt at 3:30 p.m. The Blazers end the regular season with a three-game homestand beginning Saturday, April 14.
