Box Score FREDERICK, Md.—Junior Randolph Clark of the Hood College
men's lacrosse team and senior Caitlin Lawrence of the women's
lacrosse team have been tabbed Hood College athletes of the week
for the week ending Feb. 24.
Clark had a great individual performance to help guide Hood to a
16-4 victory against Rosemont over the weekend. Clark, who is a
product of Northern in Chesapeake Beach, Md., was nearly flawless
on faceoffs against the Ravens. Clark won 19 of his 20 attempts and
scored a superb goal straight off one of his faceoff victories. His
13 groundballs was easily the most for both teams and he now has a
team-high 18 groundballs in just two games. With Clark's ability to
win almost all of his faceoff attempts, it is going to make it very
difficult for opposing teams to stop the Blazer attack.
Originally from Catholic in Baltimore, Lawrence rewrote the
record books in Hood's first contest of the season Saturday
afternoon. Lawrence started off her senior campaign by scoring a
staggering 11 goals against Waynesburg, which broke the school
record for most goals in a game. Lawrence's 14 points for the game
was also a new school record and she is now just three goals away
from taking over the top spot for goals in a career. Waynesburg
tried doubling her as the game wore on, however the Yellow Jackets
had no answer for Lawrence and her darting runs forward made life
miserable for the Waynesburg defenders. If the first game was any
indication, this senior season may be a special one for Lawrence in
the weeks to come.

& Jefferson at 1 p.m. in non-conference action.
