BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Despite a standout performance from goalkeeper Ying Van Schaik, Hood College dropped a 2-0 final at Bryn Mawr in the Blazers' season opener.

Van Schaik stopped 19 shots in the game and allowed only two goals. 

Holly Constants scored both Owl goals. She knocked one into the back of the cage just before the intermission at 33:36 off of a penalty corner.  Just over 12 minutes into the second half, she scored again to give Bryn Mawr a two-goal cushion.

Emily Richardson, who finished second in the conference in defensive saves as a freshman, and freshman Shelby Amspacher each had defensive saves for the Blazers.

Sophomore Alysa Billeter and newcomer Alexis Briscoe combined for all seven of Hood's shots. 

The Blazers return to action on September 3 for their home opener against Shenandoah.
