READING, Pa. - Hood College's Tayler Piper (Manheim, Pa. / Manheim Central) scored her first career goal for the Blazers in a 4-1 loss to Commonwealth Conference opponent Albright. 

The Lions jumped to a quick lead in the first half, scoring three goals in opening 23 minutes. Amanda Smith scored the first goal off an asssit from Tracy Snyder after a penalty corner in the sixth minute.  Just one minute later, Samantha Martin scored another goal off the corner, making a 2-0 lead for Albright. The third goal for the Lions was scored in the 23rd minute by Kendra Delgado after an assist from Amanda Smith, finishing the half 3-0.

Hood scored its lone goal of the game five minutes into the second half, following a penalty corner. Piper scored the goal off an assist from Emily Richardson (Sykesville, Md. / Century). 

Albright's Tracy Snyder secured the win, with a one-on-one goal in the 57th minute for a 4-1 victory.

Jessica Sedgwick (Fairfield, Conn. / Cushing Academy) had three saves in 23 minutes and Alexa Rubano (Wallingford, Conn. / Lyman Hall) made six in 46 minutes. Gabby Frake stopped one shot for the Lions.

Hood travels to Messiah for a Commonwealth matchup on October 22.
