LATROBE, Pa. - Hood College dropped a non-conference game at St. Vincent, 8-3.

Alex Villegas (New Windsor, Md. / Francis Scott Key) led the Blazers with two goals and six ground balls. Tai Foster (Honolulu, Hawaii / Punahou) had one goal and Luke Slick (Smithsburg, Md. / Smithsburg) added one assist. Zach Kauffman (Lancaster, Pa. / Garden Spot) won 8-of-12 faceoffs and had four ground balls. James Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa, / Susquehannock) added six ground balls and one caused turnover. Joey McCulloh (Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill) stopped nine shots in goal. 

Foster pulled the Blazers to a 1-0 lead with a goal three minutes into the first period. With six minutes remaining, the Bearcats went on a three-goal run to take the lead (3-1). One minute to go in the period, Villegas found the back of the net to for a 3-2 deficit.

St. Vincent opened the scoring in the second half with a goal in the first 15 seconds to make it 4-2. That score stood until Villegas scored with the help from Slick with two minutes on the clock, pulling Hood within one at the half, 4-3.

The Bearcats' defense took control in the second half to claim the win, 8-3.

Bryce Pasquariello led St. Vincent with three goals and one assist. Patrick Kenna had one goal and 11 ground balls. Michael Grus added seven ground balls. Greg Gonzalez made 12 saves in goal.

The Blazers look to get back in the win column against Delaware Valley on March 21.
