Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College fell to Marymount University (Va.) in a non-conference game, 13-4.
James Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa. / Susquehannock) led the Blazers defensively with six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Zach Kauffman (Lancaster, Pa. / Garden Spot) won 12-of-21 faceoffs and added four ground balls. Nick Druelinger (Joppa, Md. / John Carroll), Tai Foster (Honolulu, Hawaii / Punahou), Cody Mai (Hanover, Pa. / South Western) and Sean Murphy (Chesapeake, Va. / Grassfield) each had one goal. Nick Masucci (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) added four ground balls. Joey McCulloh (Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill) stopped five shots in goal.
The Saints opened up the scoring 15 seconds into the first quarter, and Druelinger responded a minute later to tie the score 1-1.
Foster pulled the Blazers to a 2-1 lead with a goal at 11:46, but Marymount closed out the period with a five-goal run, for a 6-2 advantage.
The Saints started the second quarter with a goal at 13:41 (7-2), but Hood's defense kicked in and held MU scoreless for 10 minutes.
Marymount found the back of the net two more times in the final three minutes, but a goal from Mai with 42 seconds left made it 9-3 at halftime.
The two teams remained scoreless for half of the third period before Murphy scored with the help of Patrick O'Brien (Ridley, Pa. / Ridley) to make it 9-4. The Saints' Shoshone Smith scored with 5:38 remaining to extend the lead 10-4.
Marymount ended the game with three goals in the fourth period.

Max Johnson led the Saints with two goals, two assists and three ground balls. Mike Stidham, Nico Burns, and Smith each had two goals apiece. Tyler Dasilva had six ground balls. Mike Kempel had eight saves and four ground balls.
Hood looks to get back in the win column against Bridgewater (Va.) on March 6.
