Box Score READING, Pa. - Hood College dropped its season finale, 15-2, against Albright.
Miguel Caruso (Spotsylvania County, Va. / Chancellor) led the Blazers on defense with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. James Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa. / Susquehannock) notched five ground balls and Patrick O'Leary (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) had four. Joey McCulloh (Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill) made 16 saves in goal and picked up three ground balls. Zach Kauffman (Lancaster, Pa. / Garden Spot) won five faceoffs.
The Lions jumped to an 8-0 halfway through the game. Jack Zuckerberg (Silver Spring, Md. / John F. Kennedy) had the first Blazer goal five minutes into the third period with the help of Cody Mai (Hanover, Pa. / South Western), 8-1. Albright added two more goals for a 10-1 deficit heading into the final quarter.
Albright continued the scoring into the fourth with four goals over a 10 minute stretch to make it 14-1. Alex Villegas (New Windsor, Md. / Francis Scott Key) had a man up goal with 4:38 to score Hood's final goal, and the Lions added a final goal to seal the win.
Ryan Turner led Albright with three goals. T.J. Holston had two goals, one assist and five ground balls. James Egleston also added two goals and one assist. Joe Devinney had a game-high four caused turnovers and had five ground balls. Darian Meador picked up a game-high eight ground balls and won 15-of-20 faceoffs. Nicholas Pisco had five saves in goal.
The Blazers close out the season with an overall record of 6-10, the second most wins in a season in program history. Weger ends his career with 100 more caused turnovers than any player in school history (177). McCulloh finishes his career with a Hood-best .564 save percentage and is second in career saves with 596. Villegas ends the year in fifth place in career points (59) and assists (21).
