Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Hood College ran into nationally ranked Stevenson and dropped a Commonwealth Conference game by a final score of 20-2.
Joey McCulloh (Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill) did his best to keep the Blazers in the game, turning away 23 shots in 52 minutes.
Alex Villegas (New Windsor, Md. / Francis Scott Key) accounted for both Hood goals. With Hood trailing 6-0 early in the second period, he fired a left handed shot low for the Blazers first score. He took an assist from Tai Foster (Honolulu, Hawaii / Punahou) in the game's final minute to capitalize on a Stevenson penalty for Hood's other marker.
James Weger (Shrewsbury, Pa. / Susquehannock) had three caused turnovers. Miguel Caruso (Spotsylvania County, Va. / Chancellor) led the team with five ground balls. John Hoffman (New Market, Md. / Oakdale) made three saves in the final eight minutes in relief of McCulloh.
For the eighth-ranked Mustangs, Tony Rossi scored the game's first two goals and finished with a game-high three scores. Matt Tompkins had three assists and scored once. Josh Rufolo led all players with six ground balls and Callum Robinson forced three turnovers. Connor Skeen made four saves in the first 49 minutes.
Hood returns home to face Alvernia on Senior at Thomas Athletic Field on April 11 at 1 p.m.
