WINCHESTER, Va. - Hood College fell 11-5 at Shenandoah in non-conference men's lacrosse action.

Five different players scored for the Blazers. Nick Druelinger (Joppa, Md. / John Carroll), Gio San Fillipo (Penfield, N.Y. / Penfield), Eddie Somerville (Bayport, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point), Alex Villegas (New Windsor, Md. / Francis Scott Key) and Grayson Zubradt (Elmhurst, Ill. / York Community) each had a goal. Patrick O'Brien (Ridley, Pa. / Ridley) had an assist.

John Hoffman (New Market, Md. / Oakdale) stopped a career-high 17 shots. Zach Kauffman (Lancaster, Pa. / Garden Spot) had five ground balls, while Somerville and Tucker Palmer (Phoenixville, Pa. / Owen J. Roberts) added four apiece. Weston Bimstefer (Ellicott City, Md. / River Hill) caused three turnovers and Palmer had two.

Hood scored first when Somerville found the back of the net with six minutes and 17 seconds left in the first quarter. The Hornets quickly responded with three goals to carry a 3-1 lead into the second period. 

Villegas scored with 4:46 left in the first half, but Jeff Goss stretched Shenandoah's lead to 4-2 at halftime. 

The Blazers trailed 7-2 before back-to-back goals by Zubradt and San Fillipo cut the deficit to three early in the fourth quarter. Tilghman Sanders assisted on two man up goals in a span of 37 seconds later in the period to put the game out of reach.

Stephen LaTona had three goals for the Hornets. Michael Brooks added two goals and an assist. Sanders finished with a goal and three assists. Colton Fisher had seven ground balls. Dom Lombardi notched four caused turnovers. Ben Judy was credited with 12 saves. 

Hood travels to Moravian on March 2.
