Box Score GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Hood College men's lacrosse dropped a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth contest at Messiah 12-2.
Alex Villegas (New Windsor, Md. / Francis Scott Key) and Grayson Zubradt (Elmhurst, Ill. / York Community) scored goals for Hood. Zubradt's was his 26th of the year, tying the single season record set by Kris Miner in 2011.
John Hoffman (New Market, Md. / Oakdale) had 17 saves and four ground balls. Eamon Mulligan (Springfield, Va. / West Springfield) and Keller Falkenstein (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) each caused two turnovers.
The Falcons jumped ahead 4-0 in the first quarter before Villegas found the back of the net with one minute and 11 seconds left in the period to cut the deficit to three. Messiah then went on an eight-goal run that stetched into the fourth quarter.
Zubradt capped the scoring with an assist from Alexander Elliott (Cornelius, N.C. / West Orange) with 2:12 left in the game.
Blake Knobloch had three goals and an assist, while Joseph Franken also scored three times. Brady Marburger won 14-of-16 face offs and had six ground balls. Chris Ruger had three caused turnovers.
Sam Stengel made six saves in the first half. Brooks Arnold and T.J. Cole had two each in the second half.
Hood hosts Lycoming on Senior Day on Apr. 16 at 1 p.m.
