READING, Pa. - Hood College's Patrick O'Brien (Ridley, Pa. / Ridley) scored the game-winning goal with one minute, five seconds left in overtime to lead the Blazers to an 11-10 victory over Alvernia in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

The goal was O'Brien's sixth of the contest, tying Hood's single game record set earlier this year by teammate Grayson Zubradt (Elmhurst, Ill. / York Community). 

Zubradt recorded three goals in the game against Alvernia. John Hoffman (New Market, Md. / Oakdale) had 18 saves. Zach Kauffman (Lancaster, Pa. / Garden Spot) won 16-of-25 face offs and secured seven ground balls. Alexander Elliott (Cornelius, N.C. / West Orange) had five ground balls. 

The overtime game-winner capped a furious, second half comeback by Hood. The Blazers scored the day's final seven goals to escape with the victory. 

Jarrett Abernathy scored for Alvernia to make it 10-4 with 3:13 remaining in the third quarter after a five-goal run by the Crusaders to open the half. 

Zubradt's first score of the day, with just three seconds left in the third, cut the deficit to five entering the final quarter. O'Brien scored back-to-back goals to pull the Blazers within 10-7 with 8:40 left in the contest. Zubradt matched the back-to-back tallies, cutting the Alvernia lead to 10-9 with three minutes on the clock. With just 1:41 to go in regulation, O'Brien's fifth goal tied the score and forced overtime. 

In the first half, O'Brien scored twice; and Eddie Somerville (Bayport, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) and Tai Foster (Honolulu, Hawaii / Punahou) scored once each, but Alvernia led 5-4 at the half. 

Benjamin Manning led the Crusaders with four goals and an assist. Andrew Ritchie had two assists. Kevin Duggan caused four turnovers. Kyle Augustine stopped seven shots. 

Hood wraps up the regular season at Arcadia on Apr. 30.
