Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team dropped a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth contest to visiting Lebanon Valley, 10-5.
John Hoffman (New Market, Md. / Oakdale) made 16 saves. Alex Villegas (New Windsor, Md. / Francis Scott Key) scored twice. Nick Masucci (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) grabbed five ground balls and caused two turnovers. Keller Falkenstein (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) notched two caused turnovers. Zach Kauffman (Lancaster, Pa. / Garden Spot ) won 10-of-18 face offs and had five ground balls.
Hood took an early lead when Grayson Zubradt (Elmhurst, Ill. / York Community) scored with 10 minutes and 34 seconds left in the first quarter. The Dutchmen led 2-1 lead before Sean Murphy (Chesapeake, Va. / Grassfield) took a feed from Eddie Somerville (Bayport, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) to tie the game with 3:28 left in the quarter. A late goal by Alex Bushong made it 3-2 in favor of Lebanon Valley heading into the second quarter.
Bushong scored again for a two-goal leadn, but Patrick O'Brien (Ridley, Pa. / Ridley) pulled Hood back within a goal at halftime, 4-3.
LVC scored the first three goals of the third period before Villegas scored twice to get the Blazers within striking distance at 7-5 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Dutchmen scored three times in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Bushong finished with three goals, while Brett Kudlak added two goals and two assists. Nick Mowry had five ground balls and caused six turnovers. Cameron Epple stopped three shots.
Hood will look to get back in the win column on Apr. 9 when Albright visits Thomas Athletic Field.
